Zhao Feng Chuan was born in Gaoyi County of Hebei Province. In 1934, he went into Peking Metropolitan Fine Arts School. In July 1938, he went to the Taihang Mountain to participate in the Japanese aggression resistance revolution, engaged in revolutionary propaganda work in the first Commissioner for the West Hebei, and in the same year,he joined the Chinese Communist Party. In 1939, he was transferred to "the West Hebei Public Newspaper," to compile "Mountains And Rivers Painting." In 1941, he was engaged in art and propaganda work in The Taihang Mountain Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee and created a number of murals, posters and paintings. In 1944, he created comic works "Production And Disaster Relief." During the liberation war, he served as director of The Taihang Mountain Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee, vice president of ShanxiArts Association, responsible for the the organization and leadership of art propaganda work. After the founding of new China, he served as editor of North magazine, executive director of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee, secretary of Beijing Art Room, president of Beijing Fine Art Academy , director of China Artists Association, executive director and deputy general secretary of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee, vice chairman of Chinese Artists Association Beijing Branch, consultants and vice chairman of Beijing Calligraphers Association. His Chinese painting representative works mainly include "Transfer", "Commune Production Teams", "Taihang tomato", "Huangshan", " Shi Du River Landscape", etc. and comic representative works are mainly "Li Shunda", "The First Year", " The Three Tecades of China Communist Party "( awarded by the North China Bureau), etc..
