In 1947, joined Jin Ji Lu Yu Central Land Revolution...Group; In 1948, joined Communist Party. Associate Officer, Ji Nan Art Society; Chief Editor of < Ji Nan Pictorial Magazine >; 1954, studied Central Institute of Fine arts; In 1980, president, Beijing Chinese Painting Research Society.
Gu Yizhou started to picked up drawn pen in Anti-Japanese battlefield, and taught painting himself, he was skilled in publicity posters, comic- book. colorful claborate-style painting. In 1959, he joined creation of < The Capital Spring >. He specialized in landscape of National Painting, he had his own style in strict, easy, powerful and full of life feeling, art style.
