Yan Di(Late)

Yan Di, born in Rongcheng County of Shandong Province, participated in the revolution in 1944 and joined the CPC in 1956. He used to be deputy chief of publicity department of Dalian Sino-Soviet Friendship Association, deputy head of Luda Backstage and engaged in art work in Changchun Film Studio, China Film Corporation. In 1957, he went into Beijing Painting Academy and specialized in landscape painting, served as the director of the creative team. On the 30th anniversary of the Army, he painted along the Red Army's march line, did a collective creation "long march picture", and created "Daizong Rising Sun" with Wu Jingting. In 1963 - 1964, he created "Ju Yongguan," "Beijing Suburb Landscape", "Penglai Attic " for the Great Hall.     His works participated in the exhibition many times in Japan, France, Canada, Macau and other countries. In 1977 he created "Guilin New Look" for Spring Festival exhibition and "Sun After The Storm" for the national landscape flower show. He used to be the member of Chinese Artists Association and director of Chinese Painting Research Association. He had published"Yan Di Paintings". In 1997,Beijing Painting Academy and Beijing Artists Association jointly organized Yan Di posthumous exhibition.     Yan Di was an important painter in contemporary landscape painting. In1950s, he painted in Guilin, Yangshuo with Li Keran and had a certain contribution to landscape painting language innovation. In 1961, he went to Huang Shan and painted hundreds of pieces on the draft with home-made willow charcoal, which had a unique style.
