On January 19, “Pleasure in Flowers and Birds—Exhibition of Freehand Flower and Bird Paintings Collected by BFAA” was held on the second floor of the Art Museum of BFAA. It was another special collections display planned by BFAA since the opening of the Art Museum, and 56 pieces of freehand flower-and-bird paintings by those great masters and famous painters in the 20th century were exhibited. 

On May 14, “Symposium Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of BFAA” was held at the conference hall on the fifth floor of the Art Museum. 

On June 18, Jia Qinglin came to the Art Museum of BFAA to visit “Chen Guangwen’s Plum Blossom Exhibition”, accompanied by Wang Mingming, president of BFAA. He also visited “Scenic Beauty—Artistic Conception Conveyed in Qi Baishi’s Landscape Painting” and “Contemplation on Plum Blossom and Chrysanthemum—Worldly Pleasure Conveyed in Qi Baishi’s Flower Painting”. 

On July 1, Hong Kong painter Xiao Huirong held the “Exhibition of Xiao Huirong’s Traditional Chinese Painting in Celebration of the Tenth Anniversary of Hong Kong’s Return”. The exhibition was hosted by China Artists Association, China National Academy of Painting and BFAA. 

On July 26, the “Exhibition of Qi Gong’s Calligraphy on Couplets” was held at the Art Museum of BFAA at the time of the 95th anniversary of Mr. Qi Gong’s Birth. 

On August 3, “Aquatic Pleasure—A Seminar on Qi Baishi’s Paintings of Aquatic Life” was held at the conference room on the fifth floor of the Art Museum of BFAA. 

On August 8, Mrs. Roger, the wife of the IOC president Jack Roger visited the Art Museum of BFAA. 

On October 15, a delegation headed by famous director Zhang Yimou visited the Art Museum of BFAA and the exhibitions at the Multifunctional Hall. 

On October 18, the “Lingering Fragrance—Exhibition of Yu Feiyin’s Works Collected by BFAA” hosted by BFAA was held at the Art Museum of BFAA.
