Beijing Fine Art Academy

History

On January 7, 1953, China National Art Association and The Central Academy of Fine Arts held a meeting to celebrate Qi Baishi’s 93th birthday. Premier Zhou Enlai attended the meeting and held a cordial conversation with Qi Baishi.

On September 18, 1957, after Qi Baishi died, Premier Zhou Enlai attended the public memorial service held at Qi Baishi’s residence—13 Yu’er Hutong, Di’anmen.
Premier Zhou Enlai visited an exhibition of the posthumous works of Qi Baishi.

Chinese Art Institute of Beijing was formally established in May 14, 1957.Premier Zhou Enlai and more than 300 well-known figures attended the inaugural meeting.
Chairman Mao Zedong held a cordial conversation with Chen Banding, Vice-president of Beijing Chinese Fine Art Academy.

In 1999, Comrade Hu Jintao and Comrade Yang Rudai observed the collection of BFAA at the CPPCC Auditorium.

In September 23, 2005, Beijing fine art academy, Qi Baishi memorial hall,the completion of the opening..

On October 20, 2006, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC visited the Qi Baishi Memorial Museum.

In October 2007, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC visited the Brilliant Works of the Time—Art Exhibition in Celebration of 50 Years of Achievements by BFAA and CPIS (Chinese Painting Institute of Shanghai)
In May 2008, Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC visited the “Sentiments Conveyed in Past Memory—Exhibition of Wang Mingming’s Works (Horizontal Scrolls, Albums of calligraphy, and Fan Paintings).”
