Introduction

 

2011, Beijing Fine Art Academy organized the reparation of Qi Baishi’s former residence, and renamed as Memorial Hall of Qi Baishi’s Former Residence, the memorial hall was opened on 13th May 2012. Memorial Hall of Qi Baishi’s Former Residence located at No.13 Yard Yuer Hutong, east district, Beijing, it is a courtyard of middle Qing style and is a historical and cultural site under east district government protection. 1955, the little courtyard was purchased for Qi Baishi by Ministry of Culture under instruction of Prime Minister Zhou Enlai, Qi Baishi painted a lot of important paintings in his late years and stepped into his late brilliant years. After Qi Baishi passed away, No.13 Yard was used as studio of Beijing Fine Art Academy's Artists. In 2011, under the support of Beijing Municipal Committee and Beijing Government, Beijing Fine Art Academy repaired the courtyard and rebuilt the late scenery of living and painting environment of Qi Baishi.
