At the beginning of this year, the exhibition Paintings and calligraphies from Huangjun (黄均), will be opened at 9:30 a.m. 23.Feb.2011 at the Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the exhibition will last to 1.Mar.2011. The exhibition is sponsored by Counsellor Office of the State Council, Central Research Institute of Culture and History, China Artists Association, Beijing Artists Association, Beijing Fine Arts Academy, Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), and organized by Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. The exhibition had gathered approximately 60 paintings and calligraphies of Huangjun, partly drawn from Beijing Fine Art Academy’s extensive holdings and partly offered by the artist. Besides, the documents such as the poems wrote in Mr.Huang’s youth and teach notes wrote when Mr.Huang taught at CAFA etc. are also included; the exhibition makes an important conclusion of the artist.

          Inherit from prestigious artist

          The artist born in the literati family in Taiwan, he likes painting when he was very young, Mr.Huang had participated in the Research Association of Chinese Painting (中国画学研究会) and majored in figure paintings followed Xu Yansun(徐燕孙), Chen Shaomei(陈少梅), Liu Lingcang(刘凌沧), to learn the fine brush Chinese paintings, for the further study of painting and calligraphy of the north style. Mr.Huang had also followed Fu Xinshe(溥心畬) and learned a lot, as a hardworking and creative artist, Mr.Huang had set good example for the artists nowadays.

          Before the establishment of PRC, Mr.Huang had invited by director Xu Beihong(徐悲鸿)of Peiping National Art Academy (北平国立艺术专科学校), just the relations with Mr.Xu inspired Huangjun a lot, in particularly, the aspect of how to make new creation in Chinese traditional painting. Mr.Huang had produced a lot of paintings with modern theme after 1949, such as Flowers (《心花怒放》), Besides the Fountain of Butterfly（《蝴蝶泉边》） etc.

           Fine elegance and robust style

           Mr.Huang taught all his life in Peiping National Art Academy, he always mentioned that artists should both good at fine elegance and robust style(金针度绣 巨刃摩天), freehand brush painting (写意) will bring a lot of inspiration for a fine brush painting artist. The conjunction of fine and freehand painting style is also the pursuit of Mr.Huang. As a result, the exhibition showed not only the portraits of ladies in fine strokes but also the mountain and water paintings and bird and flower paintings in freehand strokes. These art works proved the artist’s cultivation and the profound knowledge of Chinese ancient civilization.

           A painting for the Congratulations in the 30th anniversary of Beijing Fine Art Academy’s establishment

          We would like to emphasize a painting named Congratulations for the 30th anniversary of Beijing Fine Art Academy’s establishment, which is created in 1987. Mr.Huang had experienced the grow of Beijing Fine Art Academy, this painting extended the good wishes from the artist. Accompany the painting, he also wrote a calligraphy with his expect of the revitalize of Chinese painting, these art works are good evidences for the relationship between the artist and Beijing Fine Art Academy.

             Documentary depicted the career of the artist

             Mr.Huang applied the Chinese traditional poem to his paintings, the exhibition showed the poem notes wrote when the artist was young. Besides, in the area of inheriting traditional Chinese art, Mr.Huang insists his unique style and his exploration, he had wrote many books about the theory of how to create the fine brush painting, these documents will also be shown in this exhibition.
