“Search of Dongzhuang—Xiaogu’s Solo Exhibition” will be held from 18th Sep.-22nd Sep.2013 at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the exhibition is co-hosted by China Art Research Center, Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture Radio Film and TV, Beijing Fine Art Academy and Xin Ming Newspaper. It is the second large solo exhibition after the first one which was held at Museum of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and hosted by Cultural department of the xinjiang uygur autonomous region and Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture Radio Film and TV.

        Xiaogu is the vice president of Shanghai Painting & Sculpture Institute, national first grand artist and famous artist.

        For a long time, Xiaogu insists his personal creation way. is the artists’ eight years oil painting creation and research program since 2005 named “Traditional Culture’s Contemporary transform”. As a research program, it’s not only limited by the painting itself but also history and culture tradition beyond the paintings, and the exploration of culture construction. Xiaogu moved by Shenzhou’s < Dong Zhuang Painting>, generally, he touched by Shezhou’s unconventional and focus on reality, respect of nature and the harmony relationship with nature. Xiaogu cureated with the perspective of contemporary literature, these paintings revealed south China’s landscape with light colors, they conveyed Chinese traditional culture and literature’s mood in searching “seclusion of heart” and “spirit home”.

         Xiaogu introduced his paintings as he chose because he wants to present Chinese literature’s harmony thoughts in nature and history. The research of is the research of Chinese traditional culture, as a explorer Xiaogu wants his paintings are creative in painting itself and culture.

         Xiaogu think that history plays an important role in his painting, the sense of history reflected from techniques to documents and ideals, Xiao make this though all though hi creation and finally present in his paintings. Vintage eyes can not be used in observing modern times, in controversial, we should have a culture tolerate view to research ancient spirit, contends both traditional contends and modern form. Xiaogu said that “my paintings not only a provment of history, but also a present of reality.”

         Xiaogu feels the artist and literature’s deep understanding of human and nature. In fact, when Xiaogu searching Dongzhuang, he is also searching our generation’s sense of culture belonging and spirit home.
