Harmonious Region--Bamazhaxi’s Solo Exhibition

        From last year, for supporting minority area artists’ creation, promote the exchange between different nations, Beijing Fine Art Academy organized “series Invitation Exhibition of Artists from Minority Region”, “Harmonious Region--Bamazhaxi’s Solo Exhibition” is the second exhibition of it, the exhibition will focus on Bamazhaxi’s late art works on water and ink. The exhibition will be opened on 27th Sep. and last to 8th Oct 2013, it’s co-organized by Art Committee of China Artists Association, the Tibet Autonomous Region Federation of Literature and Art, Beijing Artists Association, Tibet Artists Association, Beijing Fine Art Academy, Tibet Fine Art Academy, Li Keran Art Foundation. As Tibet artists Bamazhaxi’s first solo exhibition in Beijing, the exhibition will include more than sixty paintings created in late years, display a Tibet artist’s art experiment and explore in using Chinese traditional ink language.

 

         As series exhibition, the invitation exhibition of minority region artists try to establish an exhibition platform though art symposium, audience can see minority region’s artists’ art work in Beijing, feeling Tibet art’s purity and mysterious.

 

        From a Driver to an Artist

 

         Bamazhaxi who also named Zhang Xixing is a typical Tibetan who born in Shigatse City Tibet region. Bamazhaxi’s life is very difficult, his early years are very tough, after graduated from middle school he worked at Lhasa city transportation company, as a driver he always drive in desert. Bamazhaxi is not graduated from art school, he uses his spare time to learn painting, he had followed Wu Dewei, Han Shuli and Yu Youxin and gradually get achievements. Bamazhaxi not only the first artist who had held an exhibition in Paris France in 1990s, he is also the second Tibet artists who won “Maple Reword” in Canada. He had also held several solo exhibitions in Paris and    Kuala Lumpur. Nowadays, Bamazhaxi is not only an artist but also the vice chairman of Tibet Artists Association, vice president of Tibet Fine Art Academy, making his contribution for art development in Tibet region.

 

        From God to Human

 

         As a local artist in Tibet, Bamazhaxi owns Tibetan typical character such as sincerity and perseverance; this is also the source of his creation. In his early years, he focus on colors on canvas, using the Surreal art techniques to express Tibet area religion’s mysterious and symbolism, convey artist’s love of religion and art. After 2007, Bamazhaxi began to accept Chinese traditional art language on rice paper. Because he is not satisfied with his early works, he had burned hundreds of them in 2009. Until now, Bamazhaxi’s art overpassed Tibet paintings’ simple express, but also use his personal style and language to explore painting’s space and levels. Just like series paintings, artist depicted what he saw, he heard, feeling and thinking though his own distinguish art language, insist on the base of Tibet local culture character added artist’s observation of daily life. Bamazhaxi is a representative artist who success in conversion from “God” to “Human”, in the background of Tibet local art development, Bamazhaxi’s art step into world platform.
