Pu Xinyu’s Painting Exhibition will be held from 25th Oct to 20th Nov. at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the exhibition is co-hosted by China Artists Association, Beijing Artists Association, Jilin Province Museum, Capital Museum, Beijing Fine Art Academy etc. about one hundred paintings are included in the exhibition, it is the most comprehensive exhibition of the artist in recent years.

        Pu Xinyu is a very important artist in Republic of China period in Beijing. Because he was born in royal family, he had the opportunity to see master pieces in different dynasties.  Luji’s , Hangan’s , Yi yuanji etc. are copy and learning objective of Pu Xinyu. Pu Xinyu was hard working both in painting and also writing. Pu’s painting doesn’t limited from South style and North style, he combined the two styles into one, Pu Xinyu and Zhang Daqian are called “South Zhang North Pu” in his period. 1949, after Pu Xinyu arrived in Taiwan, Huang Jungbi, Zhang Daqian and Pu are called “three masters across the sea”.

         Under the support of Jilin Province Museum, Capital Museum and private collectors, the exhibition get together some art works before and after he moved to Taiwan, these paintings make a comprehensive description of Pu Xinyu. are created in 1912 when Pu was 17 years old, the painting created in Beijing Jietai Temple. The painting’s style are very different form his late years, so it is very precious.

         Jilin Province Museum will show a lot of Jiayuan paintings which make the feature of the exhibition, In 1948, Pu Xinyu traveled from Nanjing to Hangzhou, Mr. Jiayuan received Pu and his family. Pu appreciate Mr.jia’s treatment and painted many paintings for him, these paintings just show Pu’s attitude before he leave for Taiwan.

          Paintings after Pu settled down in Taiwan in this exhibition are mostly from private collection, which contends a lot of figure paintings: the artists finished these painting not with brush but with figure.

          Besides these paintings, a lot of sketches are also included in the exhibition, these sketches provide us a clue how Pu learned his paintings.

          Pu Xinyu is a representative when sociality transformed, he didn’t created a lot but explain the inner power of art, in contrast, the study of literature and calligraphy are more and more ignored by currently. We believe the exhibition will benefit artists currently a lot.
