This year, the Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, in cooperation with the Zhejiang Provincial Museum and the Zhejiang Art Museum, jointly launched the "Bosom Friends Through Miles Apart——Flower & Bird Paintings by Qi Baishi& Huang Binhong ", which opened the curtain of a dialogue between the two art masters across the north and south on the one stage.
The exhibition is divided into three sections: " Means of Replacing Trees and Flowers", "Energetic Graceful", "Indifferent to the Same as Supremacy". A total of 169 sets of flower and bird work, life drawing, and sketches by Qi Baishi and Huang Binhong are collected. Comprehensively show the development history and outstanding achievements of Qi Baishi and Huang Binhong's flower and bird painting art, and on this basis, comb and present the similarities and differences between the two art masters at the aspects of sketching methods, creative themes and artistic concepts.
