   Organized by the China Artists Association, Beijing Artists Association, Beijing Fine Art Academy, Sichuan Provincial Federation of literary and Art Circles, hosted by Beijing Fine Art Academy, co-organized by Xu Yuan Art Museum, “Emotion of Liangshan•Pigeon —— Art Exhibition of AGe” will be opened on 8 March in Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy.This exhibition brings together AGe’srepresentative works in different stages through more than 50 years. Exhibits covers more than 60 art works including Woodcut, Silk Screen Block Printing, Freehand ink painting and related art works. As one exhibition of “Series Exhibitions of artists in Minority Areas” hosted by Beijing Fine Art Academy, it provides a valuable opportunity for art circleand audience to understand creations of minority areas’ artists and to enjoy the nationalist sentiment in their works.

Realism to Impressionism, 50 years’art history
 
     AGe, Yi people, is one of the most influential female printmakerin China contemporary, also is one of the outstanding representatives of Yi artist. 
 
     In more than 50 years of art history, AGe’s creation changes from figurative realismwhich pay attention to the image to freehand abstract. Early years, she engaged in professional art creation in the Sichuan branch of China artists Association, and created small size print which reflects the struggle of Yi people. In atmosphere of figurative realism prints, AGe created a series of works reflecting the social realism. Black and white wood engraving created in 1984, is an important symbol of her maturity of figurative realism creation. In 1994, after learning from western painting’s color and keeping lines of Chinese ink painting, AGe’sfocus turned to the watermark print. She created , , and so on. In 1996, during the half years’learning experience in Europe, AGe chose to absorb nutrition in Chinese tradition. After returned to China, AGe started to explore new performance. She got rid of the realistic modelling, used the modelling of ink painting, feature of color and form of calligraphy to the creation of silkscreen printing and ink painting. She created art works like , , with modern temperament also on the basis of tradition.

Pigeon in Liangshan, interest in life
 
     The theme of this exhibition is “Emotion of Liangshan•Pigeon”. Looking back on AGe’s creation progress, as an artist from minor nationalities, conceptions of her works are all from her observation andfeelingof minor nationalities which including realism, impressionism, representation, abstraction,early woodcutorrecentink. This “emotion of Liangshan” comes from her personal experience. These works not only reflect the development of minority areas, but also are microcosm of historical changes. Her works in cooperation with Xu Kuang, , is one typical delegate. This work generalizes the temperament of Tibetan in new age by using the image of the Tibetan man in the grassland.

     The Exhibition will be opened on 8 March, coinciding with International Women’s Day. We set plate “Daughter of Moon” in the first floor which can reappear the scene of Yi women from fighting to liberating, again to show the happiness of their life. It will show AGe’sfeelings of minority. She focuses on women’s emotion. In second floor, we divide her works into 3 sections according to different creating periods and forms. They are “Homesick woodcut”, “Liangshan in Silkscreen printing” and “Dancing ink lines”. They show AGe’s woodcut, silkscreen printing and freehand ink work in recent years. These sections centrally presentAGe’s creating history in more than 50 years.
