The “Luo Min and Liu Xu Painting Exhibition” which hosted by Beijing Fine Art Academy will be open in the 10 am of March 27 in Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. This exhibition will display 94 paintings, and will end in 1 pm of April 1.
Luo Min and Liu Xu came to Beijing Fine Art Academy in 2012, and 3 years have passed, they need to hold a report exhibition, and show the artistic achievement of the three years. Art styles of them are different, oil paintings of Luo Min are more expressive, and Liu Xu is good at painting traditional green and blue landscape, and develop traditional painting with new methods. One of the two painters expresses the feeling of contemporary society, and another pays his respect to essence of traditional culture. Therefore, it is really a problem to combine the paintings of the two artists. However, we can also find the common point of beauty of the two artists' works. The point is the excited feeling art bring to us which two artists trying to seek.
Is painting a verb or a noun word? Is it come from heart or materialized spirit? The secret of art maybe from a kind of power with no logic, sometimes it goes parallel with religion and philosophy, sometimes it cross with them, and sometimes it runs in opposite directions of them. Thus the world had to give artists freedom in the maximum extent, the hands of artists are connected to their hearts, and it is the so-called "the communication of heart and hand". So the subject of this exhibition is decided to be “Gui Xin Liang Chang”.
The 65 paintings of Luo Min which exhibited in exhibition were divided into several series, and they were created from 2009 to 2015, began with the “Female Soldier Series” in early years, and painted “The Heart Sutra” recently. The works of Luo Min expressed the feeling of life of painters at first, and became conceptual paintings in recent years. Especially the “The Heart Sutra No.1”, “The Heart Sutra No.2”, the leaves seem to saying: “When Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara was practicing the profound Prajna Paramita, he illuminated the Five Skandhas and saw that they are all empty, and he crossed beyond all suffering and difficulty.” Luo Min says that she will continue to create this series works, and it is very expected.
Liu Xu’s landscape paintings combine the ornate Hall with ink. This exhibition shows 29 woks of Liu Xu, and they created from 2011 to 2014. From 20th century, painters always bring forth new ideas on claborate-style painting. From “Yu Feian, Chen Zhifu Painting Exhibition” which was held by Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy in the year before last, we can see the contrast of surpassingly beautiful of north and elegant and soothing of south, and the exhibition shows the exploration of variability of claborate-style painting. When we appreciate Liu Xu’s works today, we can feel the unite of the two temperament, the accuracy of lines, the chanciness of colors, and show the calm mind of Liu Xu.
Observing the works of Luo Min and Liu Xu which exhibited in Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, we can find that although they have some differences, the spirit they are pursuing is same. Therefore, it is meaningful to exhibiting these paintings together.
