At the beginning of the new year, “Beijing Fine Art Academy Painters Small size Painting Exhibition” which organized by Beijing Fine Art Academy will open from March 10 to March 18 in Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. This exhibition will display more than 130 small size Chinese paintings, and it is the collective appearance of the painters worked in Beijing Fine Art Academy after the exhibition “National Minority Theme Paintings of Beijing Fine Art Academy Exhibition” which hosted by Beijing Fine Art Academy.
Chinese painting has several thousand years’ history, and has also formed its own creative and appreciating methods. Such as hand scroll, album of paintings is not only a form of framing, but also in line with the ideas and life styles of Chinese literati. Those small size paintings, will be opened by painter himself when appreciated, although it is relatively privative, it combines with the creation of literati, even beyond the scope of painting, becomes a part of Chinese culture system, can’t be separated.
Small size painting has spirituality, we can’t consider small size paintings as the deflation of huge paintings. In the way of expression, small size paintings need to be painted exquisitely, and be seen more in the pictures. For a painter, the ability of creating small size paintings is the specific reflection of his comprehensive capability.
The world in always changing, appreciating traditional calligraphy and painting has distance from the life of people of current generation. Works are hanged on the wall no matter in art museum, gallery or art fair. This way of seeing adapts to the "publicity" demands of museum and complies with "democratic" requirements.
