The exhibition “Hongyao Tanxia----2013 Beijng Exhibition” will be held from 29th to 22nd Nov.2013 at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, a symposium will accompany the exhibition. Hong Yao was originally named as Hong Yaohuan, born in 1939, from 1954 to 1962, he studied at Guangzhou Fine Art Academy, after graduation, some of his paintings participated National Fine Art Exhibition.

        After 1981, Hongyao participated a lot of activities in HuBei Sheng Group, and created a lot of art works which surpassed traditional ink paintings; and helped by overseas catalogues and some foreign exhibition which held in domestic, Hong studied western modern and contemporary art, from then, he accepted the new value point of pursuit bold and free. From 1984, Hong Yao moved to Hongkong, and started his new way of art, he travelled a lot of countries. On the basis of it, Hong started his abstract painting which named Tanxian.

          Different from a lot of artists, after Hong Yao absorbed western minimal art and abstract painting, he didn’t simply imitate the western, but developed his paintings from carpenter Lu Ban’s working manner.

          Mr.Hong’s creation demonstrated that get away from traditional way and western way to painting is not only possible but also needed, we must relook the traditional culture with a modern people’s eyesight, and filtrate western art with Chinese unique aesthetic eyesight.
