         In 1945, Xu Linlu began to take Qi Baishi as his tutor to study Chinese painting. During the 13 years studied as Qi Baishi's student, he had a harmonious relationship with Qi Baishi and inherited the spirits of Master Qi's art. What's more, in Xu Linlu's paintings, there are some personal art innovations more than the spirits of Master Qi's art. Master Qi's paintings are dignified, and Xu Linlu's paintings are elegant. After the PRC was founded, Xu Linlu sold the mill which he inherited from his father. With the help of Xu Beihong and Qi Baishi, he used the mill-selling money to open a gallery named Peace Gallery in Xi Guan Yin Shi to show famous paintings collected by himself. This 40 square meters gallery soon became popular in Beijing. Not just painters, but also actors, actresses, writers, scholars and officers frequently visited his gallery.

          Xu Linlu study the painting skill of BaDa, ShiTao and Wu Changshuo. He can always catch the brilliant details and melt his spirit into his works. Xu Linlu took the spirit of folk art and Beijing Opera into his painting. Xu Linlu's rich experiences in art and life makes him success in Chinese paint.
