Beauty on the stones – the exhibition of Fei mingyao’s seal cuttings

        During the 18th and 23rd of this November, a exhibition of Fei mingyao’s seal cuttings, named Beauty on the Stones, will be held in the art gallery of Beijing Fine Art Academy It’s organized by Beijing Artists Association, Shanghai Artists Association, Beijing Calligraphers Association, and Beijing Art Academy, and it’s also the first seal cutting exhibition held by Beijing Fine Art Academy
the classical art treasures by Fei, famous Shanghai artist in seal cutting, during his five decades of creative career will be exhibited, including the masterpiece One Thousand Character Primer. In addition, Fei’s seal cutting work Glory to to Taishan has been collected by Beijing Art Academy, which was created to grieve for Ji xianlin, China’s master in literature.

 

        All Fei’s works will be displayed by subjects in this exhibition, which will be divided into five parts: interested seal, studios seal, seal for appreciation of collection, name seal, and portrait seal. At the very beginning of each parts, there are detailed introduction to fully show the achievement by Fei, and to spread basic seal cutting knowledge. Chen peiqiu’s works of handscroll, and Wang mingming’s works of fanning will be on show as well, both Chen and Wang are famous Chinese calligraphy &painting virtuoso, their works on show employed Fei’s works, the organizer hopes to meet the result of this Exhibition by involving calligraphy, painting and seal cutting together, and forcing insiders to think about how to carry forward and develop the tradition by using seals to balance the composition. This arrangement demonstrates fully the mission of the art gallery of Beijing Art Academy, that is to exhibit good works, to promote traditional Chinese culture, and to exercise the function of educating in public.
