        This exhibition is host by Painting and Calligraphy Room under The National Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Chinese Artists’ Association, Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts and Beijing Fine Art Academy. Under the cooperation of Wu Zuoren International Foundation of Fine Arts and Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy, this exhibition will present a special topic display of his lifetime painting works, which gathered his charcoal drawing works from Europe-residing study period in 1930s to his quick sketch works “the Louvre” in 1980s, in total of 90 paintings. Except the exhibits, it will also restore his “sketch trip to West” scene, in combination with active sketches panel and documentary video to present Wu Zuoren’s process history of sketches.


        “The Nature’s Creator” – Wu zuoren’s sketch works’ exhibition has selected his finest sketch paintings, starting with the relations between sketch and creation, coordinated with some matured Chinese traditional paintings and oil paintings, to emphasize technicality and the ability to make questions. This exhibition is aiming to discuss the influence and meaning of 20th century painting masters’ sketch activity to their creations, and to reconsider the existing creative problems within contemporary oil painting and Chinese traditional painting. In this respect, Beijing Fine Art Academy has gathered artistic forces to publish the painting album “The Nature’s Creator – Wu Zuoren’s Sketch Works”. In addition, the Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy will also hold an entitled “Sketches and the Revolution of 20th Century Chinese traditional Painting” on the day exhibition opens - to complete 20th Century Chinese Fine Art Masters’ Series Exhibitions of with the integrated activities including publication, exhibition, academic discussion forum and lecture.
