“Extraordinary, Perfect Sincerity”- The 110th Birthday Anniversary Exhibition of Li Kuchan.

         By 110th Anniversary of famous painter Li Kuchan's birth, the "Extraordinary, Perfect Sincerity" exhibition is host by Painting and Calligraphy Room under The National Committee of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Chinese Artists' Association, Chinese Central Academy of Fine Arts and Beijing Fine Art Academy; co-host by the Memorial Hall of Li Kuchan and Li Kuchan Art Gallery; undertake by Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. The exhibition will display 80 of his finest paintings in total, include flower-and-bird and landscape works in impressionistic style - many of them are showing for the first time. Except painting works, Li Kuchan's biography and some documentary are also includes in this exhibition.

 

         Mr. Li Kuchan (1899-1983) was the famous artist in 20th century Chinese art history, who has made significant contributions to inherit Chinese traditional painting arts. His artistic pathway has proved to be an excellent "sino-western"example. His painting has not only presents unique aesthetic viewpoint and wealthy expression techniques, but also contains masculine within his naturalness and implicit style works. Under his natural and flowing style of painting, he draws vigorous, simple and unadorned lines; uses reduced but interesting techniques, all these impressionistic-style details has penetrated the essence of "extraordinary" and "perfect sincerity". Indeed, Li Kuchan has pioneered the new style of impressionistic-style painting; his extraordinary art and great personality will inevitably go down to Chinese art history.
