On 8th-20th October 2008, “The 7th China and Japan Art Exchange Exhibition” which hosted by Beijing Fine Art Academy and Waterink Painting Institution of Japan will put on display in the Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. This exhibition will present overall 91 recent painting works from 91 most representative contemporary Chinese and Japanese artists. All the works are using ink and wash painting technique. By using various draw material and artistic style; these paintings have fully annotate ink and wash painting’s unique expression in different cultural context.
This activity has enlarged the exploration force of ink and wash painting into two adjacent countries, through painters’ art exchange to practice jointly of this painting method’s exploring of modern inheritance and creation. It is a common interest for both countries to make joint effort of inherit and develop this historical painting method within East Asia and even the entire Asia territory, to turn ink and wash painting into a Eastern artistic wonder in 21st century. Meanwhile, this event has played a vital part on publicize ink and wash painting globally, to strengthen this painting method’s influence within international art field and boost the cultural political exchange between China and Japan.
