27th Jun. 2011, teachers and students from University of the Arts London arrived at Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy; they experienced a wonderful day in Chinese traditional art atmosphere. In the morning, gusts visit the Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy and they are quite interested in the exhibition of Immaculate family-----Vegetable and fruit in Qi Baishi’s paintings, Qi Baishi’s innovation art thoughts and his paintings impress them deeply.

In the afternoon, gusts try to finish their own Chinese traditional painting under Mr.Yao Dawu (姚大武)’s guide who is a professional artist major in Chinese traditional painting in Beijing Fine Art Academy. Mr. Yao inspires them to feel about the special character of Chinese traditional painting materials; gusts make different experiments with water, ink and rice paper etc. Then they watched the whole process of how to finish a Chinese traditional painting by Mr.Yao, in this way they have a deeper understanding of this old art form and they try to create their own painting. At the end of this activity, every student had finished their paintings. They put their paintings on the wall to from a little exhibition, after Mr.Yao’s conclusion, they took photos before paintings.

Activity which combined with art institutions overseas will be helpful for Chinese traditional culture’s spread and has a positive interact with cultures exchange. We will try to cooperate with more foreign art institutes for better culture communication.
