Inheritance and Sublimation Exhibition form Five Artists

         18th.May 2011 is the International Museum Day, on the occasion of this special day, the exhibition Inheritance and Sublimation, exhibition form Five Painters——Pang Xunqin(庞薰琹)、Qiu Di(丘堤)、Pang Yao(庞铫)、Chi Hong(籍虹) and Pang Jiun(庞均) will be hold in Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. This exhibition is co-hosted by China Artists Association, Beijing Artists Association and Beijing Fine Art Academy and organized by Art Museum of Beijing Fine Art Academy. The exhibition will last to 14th June. About eighty paintings from the five artists depicted different art careers of them. Although the styles of their paintings are quite different, they share the same art dream, though their paintings the audience can find their respect of the predecessors and their conspicuous personal style.

 

         Three Generations in One Exhibition


         Though the exhibition, we can find that Pang Xunqin and Qiu Di had make efforts to integrate west art and oriental art and find a new way of Chinese art, as the two artists had studied in France and Japan and influenced by the art of 20th century Europe. In the turbulent period, they founded and organized the art group JueLan(决澜) which is the first modern art group in China. Because of the war, we can see few paintings of Mr.Pang Xunqin and Ms.Qiu Di but they still full of attractive.


         Pang Jiun and Chi Hong, as the second generation of the family adhere to family art tradition, they try to explore the connotation in art, this is the art tradition under the west painting as a result there is a oriental style in Mr.Pang Jiun’s oil paintings. There is a special philosophy and female attitude in Pang Yao’s paintings, as a granddaughter she inherit art tradition of her family and insist her own art style, what she concerns is her paintings should content the artist’s emotion and convey the love of life. Under the emotional surface is the reason, her art works represent art development in the new era. Though paintings of the family we can learn different direction of oil painting development. Their modern art esthetic, their high taste and research on art will be the encouragement for us.

 

          The couple Mr. Pang Jiun and Ms. Chi Hong is the second generation of their family, they influenced deeply by family tradition, they pursue the connotation and emotion express in oil painting which is a creation and integration of Chinese tradition and west painting method. Mr.Pang Jiun is an important oil painter and spend about sixty year on his art career, as an oil painter from Beijing Fine Art Academy, it is quite pleased to see his exhibition will be opened at the institution where he had worked. Ms.Chi Hong’s paintings referred to Impressionism and contend a humanistic dream.

 

           Ms.Pang Yao is quite known in Taiwan and got a lot of achievements on her art career. Her paintings contend special philosophy and female contemplation. As a granddaughter, she accepted his family tradition but also hand well the influence and pressure from his parents and grandparents, she explored an unique art style which focus on the convey of emotion and life. From the paintings of the family, audience and find the development clue of Chinese oil painting development.

 

          An art story span from 1920s to 2010s will be narrated in this exhibition, this is a epitome of Chinese oil painting development.

         This exhibition is made possible by Beijing Fine Art Academy and Mr.Pang Xunqin’s family, Mr.Pangjun selected some paintings and some simulation paintings of his parents donated to Beijing Fine Art Academy where he had worked. This is not only a gift but also friendship. We believe that donation is the best way to make the art works be accepted by the public and it can also make art works preserved in art institution.
