The Art Museum of BFAA relies on the rich collection of BFAA and systematically develops research on Qi Baishi and other Beijing School artists in the 20th century as well. It takes the “Serial Exhibition of the Elaborate Works of Qi Baishi Treasured by BFAA” as the core, demonstrating the modern significance of the artistic works of Qi Baishi and exploring the importance of Qi Baishi’s art during the transformation of modern and contemporary traditional Chinese painting. It aims to push further the research on the artistic achievement of Qi Baishi and to make Qi Baishi Memorial Museum a key place for research on Qi Baishi. Based on the “Serial Exhibition of Beijing Fine Art Masters in the 20th Century”, it collects and sorts out the works and information of fine art masters in Beijing during the 20th century, and by supporting academic seminars and publishing monographs, it aims to establish the value and position of these fine art masters among modern Chinese fine art history and to construct the basic framework of research on Beijing School painting. Meanwhile it dedicates itself to the research on issues related to the inheritance and innovation of contemporary traditional Chinese painting.

It also plans and sponsors special exhibitions of contemporary artists both at home and abroad, academic symposiums and international fine art exchanges. It is a modern plastic arts museum that incorporates collection, research, display, exhibition, exchange and recreation.
