Born in Linyi in 1955, graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Shandong Art School in 1975 and stayed there to teach. In 1982, he graduated from Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and stayed there to teach. He was a professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, the director of Basic Courses Department, Modeling School, the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and was appointed a professional painter in Beijing Fine Art Academy in October, 2004. He used to hold personal exhibitions in,New York, Hong Kong, Macau, Germany, etc. His works had been selected for large-scale art exhibitions at home and abroad, and were collected by China Art Gallery, Beijing Artists Association and other organizations. He published many personal art collections, such as "Wang Yidong Oil Paintings" and so on. Now he is the member of Chinese Artists Association, the first-class artist of Beijing Fine Art Academy, the member of Beijing Fine Art Academy Arts Committee.
