Chen Weixin(Late)

Chen was born in XinYang of Shandong Province in 1914. Entered Beiping Forbidden City Institute, worked on copying the ancient paintings, got into Beiping Public Art Academy in the same year. Mr Huang Binhong, Xiao Qianzhong, Yu Feige and Zhou Huaimin all were his masters. In 1942, he graduated, held exhibitions in Wei Hai and Qing Dao of Shan Dong Province. After Ji Nan's Liberation, taught and created art works in the Second Middle School in Ji Nan, Ji Nan Writers Union and Common Art Gallery; was transferred to Beijing Painting Academy; Consultant, Beijing Chinese Painting Institute; Standing Director, Beijing Calligraphy and Painting Insitutte.      He was mainly expert in landscape painting. Since 1959 to 1961, he was invited to draw the famous paintings < The Rising Sun In Mountain Tai >、< Loosen Clouds In Mountain Tai > for the Great Hall of People. In 1976, he rewalked the Long March for 7 months, created more than 1000 paintings. Then drew dozens of paintings after he created < On The Long March >, all of them had been collected by Millitary Museum. From 1984 to 1985, created < The Yellow River Painting Group > . His works were full of power but grace.
