Wu Jingting(Late)

  Wu Jing Ting was a well-known landscape painter. His given name is Xi Zeng and nickame is Jing Hu, hometown is Shaoxing of Zhejiang Province and lived in Beijing. When he was 17-year-old, he entered into Chinese Painting Research Association to study paintings with Jing Cheng. He went to Japan with Jincheng and Chen Shizeng to participate in the Sino-Japanese Painting Exhibition. Among Jincheng's students, Wu Jing Ting was outstanding. In 1936, he was promoted to reviewer of Chinese Painting Research Association, and in 1954, he worked in National Institute of Fine Arts Associate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1958, he participated in setting up Beijing Painting Academy and served as vice president and painter. He used to be the secretary of Chinese Artists Association Beijing Branch, editor of "Art", the representive of Beijing Municipal People's Congress, the director of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee. Wu Jing Ting Tianzi was smart and worked hard. He repeatedly simulated masterpieces, such as Wang Shigu's " Endless Creek " and Wang Meng's "Green Mountain Seclusion Map". Under the guidance of famous painters, such as He Lvzhi, Yu Difan, Xiao Qianzhong, he traced from "Four Wangs"( In particular, Wang Shigu) to Song and Yuan dynasties, Through continuously learning, he laid a solid basis of traditional painting . His works in early years were the integration use of ancient painting, but it had own style, and gradually formed a fresh powerful style. His works in later years put more emphasis on portraying the atmosphere and scene with strong writing(Ma Xia writing approach) and splendid color. He sometimes used boneless method, sometimes outlined with Nijin, full of verve and charm. His new exploration was supposed to be in the scope of traditional painting, but paid more attention to the use of color.
