Yin Shoushi(Late)

  Yin Shoushi was born in Zhou Tieqiao, Yixing ,Jiangsu Province. in 1933, he entered into Yixing Ceramics Pottery School to study ceramics pottery, painting and calligraphy. In 1938, he studied in Wuchang Arts College, and in 1940, he served as the researcher of Fine Arts Department of Guangxi Provincial Museum. In 1942 and1944, he held exhibitions in Guilin twice. In October 1945, he portray for Mao Zedong during the KMT-CCP talks in Chongqing. In March 1946, he served as teacher of Arts Department of the General Assembly of North China Institute in Cha-Ji Border Region. In 1947, he worked as editor of "Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Newspaper" supplements and "Inner Mongolia Painting." In 1950, he was appointed deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Federation of Literary and Art Circles Prepared Committee, the CPPCC members of Inner Mongolia, and joined the Chinese Communist Party in the same year. In 1956, he served as chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Arts Association and in1957, worked as deputy general secretary of Beijing Fine Art Academy. In 1979, he became vice president of Beijing Painting Academy. In 1980, he was elected as vice president of Beijing Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee and president of Artists Association Beijing Branch. In 1981, he was elected as executive director of the Chinese Calligraphers Association. In 1988, he was elected as Executive Vice President of Federation of Literary and Art Circles Committee. He was also 8,9 served as the eighth and ninth session member of CPPCC National Committee.     Yin Shoushi was a a patriotic artist under national crisis and peril. During the war years, his ancient portraits, historical paintings and the portraits of the national elites which were active in the cultural, political arena sparkled with the national spirit and national character, encouraging people greatly.
